I feel exhausted. Up till 2 am most nights, up at 5 am and work all day. Exhausted I tell you! I meet my mentor teacher today and that again dampened my spirits as she politely said that they do not use a lot of ICT in the classroom. She was very open to my ideas about how I could incorporate and embed ICT into my lessons that I would be teaching, but it has been something that hasn’t been done.

Also, the timing of PE isn’t going to be the best either. She has just finished teaching all the content for the unit and handed out the assessment task. So I get to assist with drafting and getting them ready to present their speech. Happy to take any suggestions about what ICT might work! So from this meeting, I went to my school (late mind you..) and went straight in with the year 7’s doing NAPLAN. AGH! Lots of stressed little kids and they didn’t understand why I couldn’t help (especially the children that are verified). By this time, I’m reaching a higher lever of exhaustion and grumpiness. At our assembly, they wished me luck on my three weeks PE, which created a stir from my year 7, and 8’s where they didn’t want me to leave. By this point, I didn’t want to leave. I didn’t want to be up every night doing assignments, trying to get by…. Then…. not only did Kat’s blog come through about being the best version of you come through, but my hubby called me and told me to STOP!

He has this theory (like all good engineers do). The theory of law of attraction. What you put out into the universe is what you will get back. So my negative vibes about not having enough ICT to incorporate into my lessons (remembering that I haven’t even started yet!) to leaving my classes for three weeks, to my tiredness is NOT attracting anything positive. So as I kindly pulled my head in and told myself, “I will be fine. I will get through this.” Then Kat wrote, “Remember, don’t be too harsh on yourself when don’t succeed at first, because our failures are what make us stronger and being strong leads us into becoming the best possible roles models for our students.”….. So while my grades may not be as high as they were, I’m doing the best I can at the moment.
